STANDARD GUIDELINES FOR MIPP QUALIFICATION JUDGING.
1. Application form together with the fee is to be submitted to the chief executive 15 days prior to the actual judging session.
2. Panels are to be submitted by the applicant on the day of the judging and given to the chief executive by not later than 9.30am.
3. The Judging session starts with the lowest qualification and it is at the organizers discretion which panel starts the session and which follows.
3. Applicants are under no circumstances allowed to speak to the judges prior to the judging. This can lead to disqualification.
4. All prints have to be set in position on the stands by the applicant himself. The applicant may also seek the assistance of the chief executive.
5. The applicants may choose not to stay in the room while their panel is being judged.
6. People may stay in the room as observers while the judging session is on but the judges and/or the chief executive have the power to tell everyone to leave the room if the circumstances arise.
7. The judges cannot talk to each other while the session is on, but the chief judge can ask the co-coordinator of the judging session for permission. Selectors can also choose to remain in the room or consult outside in these circumstances.
8. Panels are judged by show off hands.
9. The judging session co-coordinator will take note of the voting and after verification he will inform the audience if the panel has passed or failed.
10. After all the panels have been judged and the result is known, the judges may speak on some panels and may also ask who the author is. It is recommended that the author be in the room at that time.
11. While the panels are being selected, all observers present on the day have to remain quiet and seated in position. No-one is allowed to talk to the judges for any reason whatsoever while the session is in process.
12. The final judgment of the selection panel is final and legally binding. Objections cannot be made.
